There has been a lot of talk about the Home Information Packs or HIP's as they are often referred to. There have been a number of trials of the HIP here in the UK, with various reactions from both the public and estate agents.
Two, issues have arisen, firstly, the issue of 'can a buyer rely on the HIP provided to them by the seller?' and secondly, 'A lending company will insist on their own surveyor doing a full survey of the property prior to granting a mortgage offer'.
What has been good about the whole 'shake-up process' is that estate agents will need to be accountable for their processes. This has been welcomed by companies like Woodside Estates who already follow a thorough process for our clients and are accountable to them for a 'good service' that we believe is 'value for money'.
